Hackett Turkey Trot Course: Frozen November 15, 2003 26 Degrees Close to 100 runners and walkers competed for turkeys in the 26th annual Turkey Trot on Saturday, November 15. The race was run on the Stillman Foote 7 kilometer cross country course on the St. Lawrence University Campus. It was a close race with the first three finishers, each from a different age group, finishing within eight seconds. Theron Hathaway of Brockville, Ontario finished in 23:28 for the overall win and the Open age group turkey. Josh Roundell of Ottawa, Ontario finished second in 23:32 and Kevin Shoom, also from Ottawa was third in 32:36. Michelle Gates of Dorval, Quebec won the women's division with a time of 27:09. She was followed by Barb Saville of Ottawa in 27:57 and Chari Marple of Ottawa completed the Canadian sweep with 28:40. The top three women also represented three different age groups. Turkeys were awarded to the first place finisher in each age group with awards going to each of the first three. The next Stillman Foote event will be the first race of the 2003-04 Frozen Foote Series on Saturday, December 13 at 10:30.
